Miklós Gábor Kerényi - KERO ®

A Hungarian theatre director, general manager, and acclaimed artist, recipient of the Kossuth Prize and the Ferenc Erkel Prize.
His name is associated with the direction of such iconic musicals as Romeo and Juliet, Miss Saigon, Rudolf, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In 1989, he became a director at the Hungarian State Opera House, where he staged not only operas by Verdi, Mozart, and Puccini but also contemporary Hungarian works.

He has directed productions in France, Switzerland, the United States, Russia, Romania, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
From 2001 to 2014, he served as the Director of the Budapest Operetta Theatre, and from November 2014 to 2017, he continued his work there as Artistic Director.
He spent two years working in England and Russia, and his musical production Monte Cristo received the “Golden Bear” Award in Moscow in 2019.

Péter Müller - SZIÁMI

A Kossuth Prize-winning Hungarian poet, songwriter, singer, film director, and cultural expert.
He is regarded as one of the key figures of Hungarian alternative culture. In 2005, he served as the Strategic Director of the Hungarian State Opera House.

His name is associated with the world-renowned musical translations of Elisabeth and Mozart!. He also contributed as a lyricist to the creation of the musicals A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Levy’story, Bridal Dance, and Tesla – Infinite Energy.

With the latter production, he received an international award at DIMF, the continent’s most prestigious musical festival, where Nikola Tesla – Infinite Energy was honored with the “Best Musical of the Year” award.

Creators

Béla Szakcsi Lakatos (1943-2022)

A Kossuth Prize and Ferenc Liszt Prize-winning Hungarian pianist and composer, honored with the title Artist of the Nation and recognized as an Outstanding Artist of Hungary.
His artistic vision bridged classical music and jazz, creating a unique musical language that defined much of his work.

In 2008, his new musical A Midsummer Night’s Dream, co-written with Miklós Gábor Kerényi - KERO ® (libretto) and Péter Müller - SZIÁMI (lyrics), premiered to great acclaim. Based on Shakespeare’s timeless story, the production showcases almost every genre of world music, reflecting Szakcsi’s creative ambition to develop a new, shared musical language — giving rise to what became known as the “world musical” genre.

Adrián Kovács

Adrián Kovács is an Artisjus Award-winning composer, who was named Composer of the Year in 2023.
Despite his young age, he is one of the most prominent and prolific creators in contemporary Hungarian musical theatre. From 2016 to 2023, he was a member of the Budapest Operetta Theatre, serving as musical director and conductor for several productions, including Dorian Gray.

His original works include The Pendragon Legend and Dangerous Liaisons, both distinguished by their musical diversity and dramatic depth. In 2019, together with Miklós H. Vecsey and Attila Vidnyánszky Jr. he co-created the musical The Great Gatsby, which premiered at the Vígszínház (Comedy Theatre of Budapest) and continues to enjoy great success.

Since April 2023, he has been a member of the Vígszínház company, where the acclaimed creative trio premiered their latest musical, City of Love, further cementing Adrián Kovács’s role as a leading figure of the new generation in Hungarian musical theatre.

Miklós H. Vecsei

Miklós H. Vecsei is a Junior Prima Award-winning Hungarian actor, writer, and lyricist.
A versatile artist, he writes adaptations, librettos, and poetry — his work includes two published volumes of poems.

During his university years, he co-founded a creative team with Attila Vidnyánszky Jr., where they collaboratively select themes, explore them through dialogue and experimentation, and transform them into theatrical works. Within this creative process, Vecsei primarily focuses on writing scripts and song lyrics.

His notable works include the musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby (Vígszínház, 2019), for which he wrote both the book and lyrics, as well as Jacques Prévert – Adrián Kovács – Miklós H. Vecsei – Attila Vidnyánszky Jr.: City of Love (Vígszínház, 2021), one of the most successful collaborations of this creative trio.

Attila Vidnyánszky Jr.

Attila Vidnyánszky Jr. is a Hungarian actor and director, and one of the defining figures of contemporary Hungarian theatre.
He is a founding member of the Sztalker Group, an interdisciplinary collective of young artists known for its innovative and experimental stage productions.

He frequently collaborates with Adrián Kovács and Miklós H. Vecsei, with whom he co-created highly successful musical productions such as The Great Gatsby (Vígszínház, 2019) and City of Love (Vígszínház, 2021).
As both a director and performer, Vidnyánszky’s work is characterized by the seamless fusion of music, poetry, and movement, as well as a deeply expressive and emotionally engaging theatrical style.
